The play on the field begins with the opening practice of fall camp on Wednesday afternoon, but the Panthers are already moving up in a certain ranking off the field. The Bleacher Report unveiled its Top 50 Division I Football Schedule Posters and the FIU poster is ranked No. 14. The poster features from left to right: Tourek Williams (Strength), Darriet Perry (Power), T.Y. Hilton (Speed), Wayne Times (Agility), and Jonathan Cyprien (Focus).
The only other Florida school ranked ahead of FIU was Florida State at No. 6. CLICK HERE to see all 50 posters. The FIU poster is the work of Freddy Ng and Heather Wight from FIU Athletics Marketing. You can get the poster for free at the Sept. 17 game against Central Florida.
Still waiting to hear from FIUJM and roary as to which prizes you guys want for finishing third and fourth in the 2nd FIU Football PSAT. El Fantasma de Pete Pelegrin is writing the blog. Clawing Cancer opted for the Sun Belt Conference Football 10th Anniversary Book. We have left your choices of a 2011 Sun Belt Conference Football Media Guide or the FIU Magazine's 2010 FIU Football Championship spread.
panther viscosity: Pete, welcome back from vacation your blogging was missed. Would like to see live blogging from the first day of practice I've spent too much time without football. I wonder why any fan of FIU football wouldn't like to have a live blog the first day of practice. One more thing is a slimmer-looking Jerrico Lee a good thing? I thought interior D-lineman should get bigger not slimmer.
PP: Thank you. As far as Jerrico, "slimmer-looking" was probably not the best description by me. Jerrico is in better shape than last season. He is slimmer-looking, but he is also stronger.
Quijote: Pete can you tell us what Spanish team Juan Guerra signed with? I can't find any news on the bing engine about this. Welcome back!!!
PP: Thanks Quijote. Guerra is going to play for Las Palmas de la Segunda Division. CLICK HERE for the article on Guerra signing with the Spanish team. For our non-Spanish speaking friends, you can use Google to translate the article since it is written in Spanish.
que bola fiu: Oye pete, whats going on with tickets and the rings? One month to go.
PP: Been told by the ticket office that the rings should be arriving in the next two weeks.
