ST. PETERSBURG -- The Panthers will be all about football and getting ready for the Beef O'Brady's Bowl on Monday, but after the team practiced at Tropicana Field on Sunday morning the Panthers headed to the Tradewinds Beach Resort for the Beef O'Brady's Beach Bash. This photo below is St. Petersburg in December and the view from the Tradewinds hotel.
I posted some of these photos earlier today on Twitter: @PetePelegrin. However, here are some more photos from today's events. First, let's go to Sunday's practice at The Trop.
As you can see the field is ready to go and as you will see below so is the rest of The Trop. Here are the Panthers at practice. Thanks Rod Moore (photo below).
FIU quarterback Wesley Carroll getting loose before practice.
The Bud Light Lounge is ready to go. It is located behind the FIU sideline.
Let's head on over to the beach where the fun was on Sunday. Here is another sand sculpture, but this is a bigger one with both teams and the bowl game logo.
One of the attractions of the beach bash was the water slide. Here is defensive back Jarrell McGee sliding down.
Another event was big glove boxing where from the south side of Chicago, weighing in at 280 pounds, was Smokin' Josh Forney, the heavyweight champ of the NCAA. Josh knocked out Greg Hickman to retain his title belt.
Rocky Part 7 was filmed earlier today. In this installment of the Rocky series, Rockey Vann, yes Rockey with an "e", loses to upstart Michael Cal (right in red gloves). Cal added a welterweight title belt to his two Pizza Bowl titles, three Don Shula Bowl titles and New Orleans Bowl title. He will look to add a Beef O'Brady's Bowl title on Tuesday night.
T.Y. Hilton does not lose too many races. He did this Times. As Wayne Times hurried past Goodbye in the obstacle course. That's Times on the left in the photo below.
The fun moved over to the talent competition between FIU and Marshall. Giancarlo Revilla, Dave Istanich and Isame Faciane represented the Panthers in the belly flop competition. But all three lost to a player from Marshall nicknamed the Big Snatch. This is Giancarlo and below is Dave.
Jose Cheeseborough won the hula hoop dancing contest. Ceedrick Davis (photo below) won the singing talent show by crooning Adele's "Rolling in the Deep". Below CD's photo is Jason Fitch, who teamed with Tall Paul Crawford to teach Marshall how to Dougie.
It was a tough day of work today, but Golden Dazzlers Madonna and Kristina, Daz Coach and Roary helped me get through it . . . .
