FIU coach Turtle Thomas has some versatile infielders to work with this season. The Panthers have several players that can play more than one infield position.
Rudy Flores, Adam Kirsch and Mike Martinez can all rotate between first base and third base. Kirsch can also play a little second base as he showed with a nifty play on a grounder behind the second base bag in an intrasquad game Tuesday. T.J. Shantz and David Vazquez can both play second base. Vazquez can also play third base and shortstop. Freshman Julius Gaines is slated for shortstop along with Jeremy Bajdaun.
