FIU opens its 2012 home schedule tonight as Brown is in town. The Panthers (1-5) will send left-hander Mason McVay (0-1, 2.79 ERA) to the hill against the Bears right-hander Heath Mayo (3-1, 3.06 ERA in 2011). Tonight will be Brown's season opener. FIU dropped 2 of 3 games to No. 8 Florida State last weekend.
