FIU coach Richard Pitino signed two point guards and a forward in Daquein McNeil, Jaquan
Lynch, and Jonathan Holton for the 2013-14 season.
McNeil, a 6-3 point guard, averaged 16 points, five rebounds and five assists at Vermont Academy last season. Rivals.com lists McNeil as a three-star prospect, ranked among the top 150 (No. 40 point guard) in the nation. He is also listed as a three-star prospect by Scouts.com.
McNeil chose FIU over Louisville, Oklahoma, Richmond, Rutgers, VCU, UAB and Washington.
Lynch, a 6-1 point guard, helped Thomas Jefferson High to a 21-7 record and a No. 6 ranking in the state of New York. He averaged 20.5 points-per-game. Lynch chose FIU over Eastern Illinois, Dayton, Hofstra, LIU Brooklyn and Stony Brook.
Holton, a 6-9 forward, is currently a sophomore at Palm Beach State College. Prior to joining the Panthers, Holton played for the Rhode Island Rams during the 2011-12 season, averaging 10.2 points-per-game and 8.1 rebounds-per-contest. Prior to Rhode Island, Holton starred at Coral Gables High. He averaged 25.5 points and 15.5 rebounds-per-game.
