FIU football added to its 2013 signing class by inking Louisville Trinity High School quarterback Travis Wright.
Wright is the Panthers’ 19th NLI signing in 2013, and the second quarterback in the class joining San Diego Oceanside’s Israel Paopao.
At Trinity, Wright was a two-time Associated Press Kentucky All-State Second Team (2011-12). He led the Shamrocks to three Kentucky High School Athletics Association Class 6A State Championships (2010-12). Wright was ranked the No. 8 overall player in Kentucky by ESPN and No. 10 by Rivals and was MaxPreps No. 1 quarterback in Kentucky and No. 11 nationally.
As a three-year starter, Wright completed 68 percent of his passes for 9,305 yards and 112 TDs. In the three state finals victories, he threw for a total of 716 yards and 10 touchdowns.
