If you didn't attend Thursday night's FIU basketball doubleheader, then you missed the Golden Dazzlers new country theme halftime show. For weeks, the ladies were stumped trying to come up with a different halftime performance they could do.
Eventually, Dazzlers Samantha and Emily -- huge country music fans -- thought of doing a cowgirl dancing performance. So the ladies gathered the other Dazzlers and taught them some line dancing. For the performances, the Dazzlers wore cowgirl hats, bandanas, boots and Daisy Duke outfits.
The Dazzlers performances, set to Luke Bryan's "Country Girl (Shake It For Me)" song, at halftime of both FIU games against Middle Tennessee led to the crowd giving the ladies a hearty and loud ovation at the end of each segment.
The Dazzlers cowgirl line dancing performances were so popular that the ladies are thinking of doing an encore performance in one of the four remaining home games. Just not in the ULM games, because the Dazzlers will be celebrating the 1980's in their halftime performances on Saturday. Dazzlers coach Paulina would not reveal what part of the 1980's the Dazzlers will celebrate, but Dazzlers sources -- yes there are Dazzlers sources -- hinted that it had something to do with gold.
