Kevin Wolthausen was hired as the Panthers’ new Special Teams coach. Wolthausen, who has 34 years of
experience coaching at the college and NFL level, will coach exclusively special teams. Jeff Popovich, who was the special teams coach and secondary coach last season, will now exclusively coach defensive backs.
In 29 seasons coaching at the collegiate level, Wolthausen has been a part of 17 postseason bowl teams, including four Rose Bowls. He most recently served as the defensive line coach at Purdue in 2012.
Wolthausen also coached with the Atlanta Falcons (defensive line) in the NFL and in the NCAA with Louisville, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Southern California and Arizona.
